PEKA AKAN SUARA ILAHI
Ada sebuah kisah tentang seorang penduduk desa yang
sedang berada di kantor kawannya di kota. Suara bising lalu lintas masuk
melalui jendela.
Tiba-tiba ia berkata, “coba dengar!” “apa?” Tanya
temannya yang tinggal dikota. “Belalang,” kata si orang desa.
Bertahun-tahun mendengarkan berbagai suara
didesa telah membuat telinganya tajam terhadap suasana desa, yang sukar di
dengar oleh orang kota.
Di pihak lain, ketika sekeping uang logam jatuh
ke lantai, suaranya segera terdengar oleh seorang pedagang, sedangkan orang
desa itu nyaris tidak mendengarnya sama sekali.
Hanya seorang ahli, yaitu orang yang telah
membuat dirinya sendiri mampu mendengarkan, dapat menangkap suara tiap burung dalam
sekelompok paduan suara burung.
Hanya seorang ahli, yaitu orang yang telah membuat dirinya sendiri
mampu mendengarkan, dapat membedakan berbagai alat music yang sedang dimainkan
dalam pertunjukan orchestra dan
menangkap satu-satunya nada yang salah dari salah satu biola.
Inilah hukum kehidupan bahwa kita mendengar apa
yang untuknya kita telah melatih diri sendiri; hari demi hari kita harus
mendengarkan Tuhan, sehingga hari demi hari suara Roh Kudus dapat menjadi
semakin jelas, bukan sebaliknya makin lemah sehingga kita tidak mampu
mendengarnya.
Kita harus mengasah kemampuan mendengarkan suara Tuhan
sehingga suara ini menjadi satu-satunya suara yang paling kita dengar di antara
semua suara lainnya.

One
powerful reason: Because Jesus Himself memorized scripture.
In
Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus was tested in the wilderness by the devil himself.
Three
times. The devil spun his lies towards Jesus.
Three
times. Jesus countered. Not with sword. But with Scripture.
Devil:
"If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
Jesus:
"It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that
comes from the mouth of God.” (Deuteronomy 8:3)
Devil:
“Throw yourself down. For it is written: “He will command his angels concerning
you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your
foot against a stone.”
Jesus
answered: “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
(Deuteronomy 6:16)
Devil:
"All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship
me.”
Jesus:
“Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve
him only.’” (Deuteronomy 6:13)
Jesus
Christ deflected the schemes of the enemy. He knew His Bible verses.
This
gives us more reason to not just read but meditate on God’s word. The devil
does not stop at nothing to throw us off.
If
we are empowered with the Word of God, we can counter attack every blow.
If
Jesus Christ memorized the scriptures, why not you? What’s your excuse?
