I read an inspiring story and I want to share it to you:

A young pilot had just passed the point of no return when the weather changed for the worse. Visibility dropped to a matter of feet as fog descended to the earth.

Putting total trust in the cockpit instruments was a new experience to him, for the ink was still wet on the certificate verifying that he was qualified for instrument flying.

The landing worried him the most. His destination was a crowded metropolitan airport he wasn't familiar with.

In a few minutes he would be in radio contact with the tower. Until then, he was alone with his thoughts.

His instructor had practically forced him to memorize the rulebook. He didn't care for it at the time, but now he was thankful.

Finally he heard the voice of the air traffic controller. "I'm going to put you on a holding pattern," the controller radioed. Great! thought the pilot.

However, he knew that his safe landing was in the hands of this person. He had to draw upon his previous instructions and training, and trust the voice of an air traffic controller he couldn't see.

Aware that this was no time for pride, he informed the controller, "This is not a seasoned pro up here. I would appreciate any help you could give me."

"You've got it!" he heard back.

For the next 45 minutes, the controller gently guided the pilot through the blinding fog.

As course and altitude corrections came periodically, the young pilot realized the controller was guiding him around obstacles and away from potential collisions.

With the words of the rulebook firmly placed in his mind, and with the gentle voice of the controller, he landed safely at last.

The Holy Spirit guides us through the maze of life much like that air traffic controller.

The controller assumed that the young pilot understood the instructions of the flight manual. His guidance was based on that.

Such is the case with the Holy Spirit: He can guide us if we have knowledge of God's Word and His will established in our minds.

So don't ignore the power of scripture memorization.

This discipline alone can lead you to greater heights of your faith in God. And there's no better time to begin memorizing Bible verses but today.

Like the story above, it's important to have a controller and you want the Holy Spirit to be like just like that and lead you to a peaceful life.

But if your mind is not marinated with God's powerful words then it's much easier for the enemy to trick or tempt you to sin.


Don't allow this to happen and begin memorizing scriptures today.

DOMBA DIANTARA SERIGALA-SERIGALA, Matius 10:16-23


MATIUS 10:16-23, (2 Timothy 1:6-12)

16   "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
17   But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues.
18   You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
19   But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak;
20  for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
21   "Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
22  And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
23  When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

Comfort in Persecution
16   Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω ὑμᾶς ὡς πρόβατα ἐν μέσῳ λύκων· γίνεσθε οὖν φρόνιμοι ὡς οἱ ὄφεις καὶ ἀκέραιοι ὡς αἱ περιστεραί.
17   προσέχετε δὲ ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων· παραδώσουσιν γὰρ ὑμᾶς εἰς συνέδρια, καὶ ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶν μαστιγώσουσιν ὑμᾶς·
18   καὶ ἐπὶ ἡγεμόνας δὲ καὶ βασιλεῖς ἀχθήσεσθε ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς καὶ τοῖς ἔθνεσιν.
19   ὅταν δὲ [k]παραδῶσιν ὑμᾶς, μὴ μεριμνήσητε πῶς ἢ τί λαλήσητε· δοθήσεται γὰρ ὑμῖν ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ τί [l]λαλήσητε·
20   οὐ γὰρ ὑμεῖς ἐστε οἱ λαλοῦντες ἀλλὰ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ πατρὸς ὑμῶν τὸ λαλοῦν ἐν ὑμῖν.
21   παραδώσει δὲ ἀδελφὸς ἀδελφὸν εἰς θάνατον καὶ πατὴρ τέκνον, καὶ ἐπαναστήσονται τέκνα ἐπὶ γονεῖς καὶ θανατώσουσιν αὐτούς.
22   καὶ ἔσεσθε μισούμενοι ὑπὸ πάντων διὰ τὸ ὄνομά μου· ὁ δὲ ὑπομείνας εἰς τέλος οὗτος σωθήσεται.
23   ὅταν δὲ διώκωσιν ὑμᾶς ἐν τῇ πόλει ταύτῃ, φεύγετε εἰς τὴν [m]ἑτέραν· ἀμὴν γὰρ λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐ μὴ τελέσητε τὰς πόλεις [n]τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ ἕως [o]ἂν ἔλθῃ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.

Kita digambarkan seperti domba yang tak punya alat pertahanan apa-apa, sedangkan orang dunia digambarkan seperti serigala. Ini jelas menunjukkan penderitaan, penganiayaan dan bahkan pembunuhan. Karena itu kalau hal seperti itu terjadi, jangan terlalu heran.
Ikut Yesus akan mengalami kesukaran/aniaya, Andaikata kita tidak perlu memberitakan Injil, mungkin kita tidak akan menderita, atau setidaknya penderitaan akan berkurang banyak. Mengapa? Karena Pekabaran Injil merupakan serangan langsung terhadap setan sehingga ia akan menyerang habis-habisan orang yang memberitakan Injil.

Ada tiga macam kesulitan yang harus dihadapi :
1.     NEGARA akan menuntut mereka. Keluaran 4:12, Matius 10:19-20
2.    GEREJA akan menuntut mereka.
Pembawa kabar baik akan mengalami kebeencian dan permusuhan dari pihak ortodoks dan yang kolot.
3.    KELUARGA akan menuntut mereka bahkan menganiaya.
Dituntut pilihan Taat pada Kristus atau taat pada keluarga/adat istiadat/kepercayaan yang lama didalam keluarga.

Bahkan ada alasan-alasan yang akan dicari untuk menuntut orang yang memberitakan Yesus Kristus.
a.    MELALUI FITNAHAN.
-      Makan daging dan minum darah.
-      Tidak bermoral. (karena Kasih Agape)
-      Tidak menghargai Negara (karena tidak mau bersumpah)
b.    DIANGGAP MEMECAH BELAH KELUARGA. Ayat 21
c.    BUDAK DIJADIKAN SETARA DENGAN MAJIKAN.
Karena dihadapan Tuhan semua manusia sama. Contoh : Budak boleh menikah dengan anak majikan.
d.    PENJUALAN BARANG-BARRANG UNTUK DIJADIKAN BERHALA BERKURANG.
Kisah 19:24-27

Tetapi perhatikan penderitaan itu haruslah ‘karena Aku’! Jangan menderita karena dosa atau karena ketololan (ay 18,22 39  bdk. Matius 5:10-12 & 1 Petrus 4:14-16).

Yesus mencari pengikut, tetapi Ia memberitahu lebih dahulu bahwa mereka yang mau ikut Dia akan menderita! Ini penting supaya pada waktu penderitaan itu datang, para pengikutNya sudah siap.

Untuk ayat 23.
Dalam kekristenan apabila ada penganiayaan kamu harus lari dari aniaya itu, tetapi kalau karena mempertahankan Iman kamu teraniaya boleh.
Tapi kalau hanya karena PENGHINAAN PRIBADI, AGAMA, DAN LAIN-LAIN. Dan kamu harus teraniaya kalau bisa menghindar Larilah.

Menurut orang Yahudi dilarang memberikan nyawanya bagi pengorbanan yang tidak jelas, tidak berguna dan tidak perlu.

Untuk orang Kristen, mati sahid demi iman itu harus diterima tetapi mati sahid yang sia-sia harus dilarang. Matius 16:23, Markus 9;1; Lukas 9:27.
